Jordan Barrant is a writer, curator and filmmaker whose inquiries are rooted in Black Feminist Geographies. Her practice wields an interdisciplinary approach as a capacious technique, and her work aims to pull the earthly into orbit with the otherworldly.
Jordan has written for Variable West, Burnaway, the Chicago Reader and the Boston Art Review. She has participated in residencies with Artpace SanAntonio, New Local Space and the Chicago Artist Coalition and has received grants from the Ignite Fund and Sisters and Cinema Media Arts Center. She is the curator of Wayfinding: Human Intervention and co-curator of The Black Domestic. She received her B.A from Spelman College in Women’s Studies with a Curatorial Studies minor and her Masters from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Visual and Critical Studies.
